The Lakewood Strategic Growth Initiative proposes to establish a building permit management system to control the flow of permit requests for new dwelling units and require City Council approval for projects of 40 units or more.
The permit management system is a key component of our growth management strategy.
Of course we've met opposition from developers and those who profit from explosive growth. We appreciate any donations that help us continue the initiative. Donations help off-set legal expenses and help pay administrative costs.
Your donations help fund our efforts to manage growth in Lakewood and preserve the quality of life and open space we all enjoy. Donations are not just welcome, but sincerely appreciated as we stand against big developers who use financial incentives to persuade and incentivize local law-makers. Please give via our GO FUND ME page.

Judge dismisses case against Lakewood Strategic Growth Initiative (Lakewood Sentinel)
On Aug. 27, 2018 District Court Judge Diego Hunt ruled that City Clerk Margy Greer’s decision upholding the validity of the initiative petitions was correct. In a proceeding exactly one month later, Hunt expressed surprise that his August ruling had not allowed for the issue to be placed on the November ballot and ordered SGI and the City to file their joint motion to dismiss the remaining claims by October 5. Within hours, Hunt placed the case on an expedited schedule.
